AuM-Specific Fields
Understanding the AuM Fee Model
How AuM Fees are Calculated
Monthly AuM Fee = Average Daily Net Worth × (Plan Charge Ratio / 100) × (Days Invested / 360)
Example:
Average daily net worth: ₹1,00,000
Plan Charge Ratio: 1.90%
Days invested: 30
AuM Fee = 1,00,000 × 0.019 × (30/360) = ₹158.33
The Offset Mechanism
When Offset Enabled = true, the upfront payment acts as a prepayment pool:
User pays an Upfront Amount at subscription start
Each month, AuM Fees are deducted from the Offset Balance (no new charge)
Offset Consumed shows how much was used this cycle
When Offset Balance reaches zero, normal AuM fee collection resumes
Example Flow:
Upfront Amount: ₹10,000
Month 1 AuM Fee: ₹500 → Offset Balance: ₹9,500 (Offset Consumed: ₹500)
Month 2 AuM Fee: ₹600 → Offset Balance: ₹8,900 (Offset Consumed: ₹600)
This continues until offset exhausted
Payment Status for AuM Plans
Unlike Flat Fee plans (one payment status), AuM plans have two separate payment statuses:
Upfront Payment Status
Tracks the initial upfront fee payment.
PAID: Upfront fee successfully collected
PENDING: Upfront fee due but not yet paid
FAILED: Payment attempt failed
AuM Fees Payment Status
Tracks the monthly AuM fee payment (when offset is exhausted or disabled).
PAID: AuM fee successfully collected
PENDING: AuM fee due but not yet paid
FAILED: Payment attempt failed
⚠️ Important: A user can have Upfront Payment Status = PAID but AuM Fees Payment Status = FAILED if their offset ran out and the subsequent AuM charge failed.
Common Use Cases
Find Users with Failed AuM Payments
Filter: AuM Fees Payment Status = FAILED
These users exhausted their offset and the AuM charge failed. Check the Pending Amount to see how much is due.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What happens when Offset Balance reaches zero?
Normal AuM fee collection begins. The user will be charged the monthly AuM fee directly (no longer deducted from offset). Their AuM Fees Payment Status will start showing PAID/PENDING/FAILED based on actual payment attempts.
Q: Why is Offset Consumed different each month?
Because AuM Fees vary based on the user's Average Daily Net Worth during that cycle. If their investment grew, AuM Fees increase → Offset Consumed increases.
Q: Can a user top up their Offset Balance?
Not automatically through this report. Users would need to pay a new upfront amount through a separate transaction. Contact the smallcase team for guidance on manual offset top-ups.
Q: What does Pending Amount represent?
The total outstanding subscription amount due from the user. This could be:
Unpaid upfront fees
Unpaid AuM fees from previous cycles
Current cycle AuM fees if payment is PENDING or FAILED
Q: What's the difference between Networth and AuM Fees?
Networth: User's current consolidated net worth across all their investments (if available)
AuM Fees: The actual fee charged based on their average invested AuM in this portfolio during the cycle
Networth is a snapshot (as of today). AuM Fees reflect the average over the cycle.
